You don’t need a professional florist or an enormous budget to create beautiful floral decor at home. With a few clever materials and realistic artificial flowers, you can create statement pieces that look surprisingly high-end.

DIY #1 — Hanging Flower Ball

  4. Add the flowers.

DIY #2 — Floral Candleholder

How to make it

1. Create the floral arrangement
Combine your artificial flowers and greenery, draping and layering the stems until you have a loose, natural-looking bouquet. Don’t make it too symmetrical — a little movement makes the arrangement feel more sophisticated.

The secret isn’t making the bouquet perfect — it’s making it look effortless.

2. Secure the bouquet
Once you’re happy with the shape, wrap floral wire around the stems to hold everything securely in place. Keep the wire hidden beneath the greenery.

3. Add the floral arrangement
Place the finished bouquet into one of the candleholders or hurricane glasses. Adjust the flowers and greenery until they spill naturally around the vessel.

4. Add the candle
Place an LED candle inside the second candleholder or hurricane glass. The warm glow creates a beautiful contrast with the flowers.

5. Style the pair
Place both vessels together on your table, varying their position and spacing until the arrangement feels balanced. A slightly asymmetrical placement will usually look more natural and editorial.



DIY #3 — Sculptural Table Arrangement

What you’ll need

How to make it

1. Arrange the candleholders
Place three or five candleholders in a row, leaving enough space between them for the floral arrangement to develop a generous, sculptural shape. Keep the candle cups accessible.

2. Create the hidden structure
Wrap the pool noodle around the shafts of the candleholders, following the line of the arrangement. Use cable ties to secure the noodle firmly to the candleholder shafts.

The pool noodle creates the lightweight foundation that gives the finished centerpiece its volume and flowing shape.

3. Add the greenery
Begin covering the pool noodle with realistic artificial greenery. Push stems directly into the foam where possible, and use a small amount of hot glue where additional stability is needed.

Work around the entire structure so that the pool noodle becomes completely hidden.

4. Build the floral design
Start adding your larger statement flowers first, distributing them along the arrangement rather than placing everything in one cluster.

Fill the spaces between the larger blooms with smaller flowers and greenery. Vary the heights, angles and directions of the stems to create a natural, designer-style arrangement.

Position the finished centerpiece on the table and step back to look at it from different angles. Adjust any flowers, greenery or golden accents that feel too symmetrical or uneven.

The secret to the expensive look

Don’t try to make every part perfectly symmetrical. Let the greenery spill outward and allow the flowers to sit at slightly different heights and angles. That’s what makes the arrangement feel more like a professional floral installation.
